A Million Dollars
This week’s journal entry:
What
would you do if you won or were given a million dollars to spend? What would
you do with the money? What would you buy? Why would you buy those item(s)?

Wow! A million dollars to spend.
Where do I even begin? They say money can’t buy happiness, but I would sure try
if I had it to spend.
First, let me clarify. I am happy
most days, and I’m grateful for what I have in life, so I wouldn’t be looking
to buy happiness. However, I know many things that I could use that money for to enrich my life even more.
I would not purchase anything new
until I first paid off all my credit cards, medical bills, and my car. That
would be next to nothing in the million dollar spree. Once those are paid off,
then I would indulge in purchases to further enrich my life. These are in no
particular order, but they would all be purchased for the reasons listed next
to each:
A beach house – Yes, right on the
beach. I’m still exploring my options on said location, but the beach house
will have access directly to the beach on the ocean. There will be a wraparound
porch for my sitting pleasure, which I’ll mostly sit out on during the evening.
A private library – That’s right. My
own room for all my books. Of course, as of right now, I do not have enough
books to fill an entire room, so I would need to purchase more books to
complete this room.
A craft room with all the crafting
materials needed – OMG…I guess I will need a large beach house. I guess if I
needed I could split the library and craft in half, but let’s be real. If I
have a million dollars, I’m buying a
large beach house with plenty of rooms for a separate library and craft room.
A new car – I don’t want anything
fancy. I don’t even know what I want. I just know I would like something with
at least a sunroof. Let’s be honest, if I have a beach house, I will not be
spending much time in a car, so it doesn’t have to be fancy. It just has to be
reliable and get me from point A to point B – beach house to store.
Beachwear and beach gear – I will
need more than one bathing suit, towels, and whatnots, so that will be a
necessity. A girl can’t wear the same bathing suit every single day. There has
to be a variety.
Beyond that, I don’t really know
what else I would spend my money on. I guess I could save it for taxes on the
house. Clearly, I won’t be doing much
work if I have my own library, craft room, and daily access to the beach, so
saving the rest for taxes would be best. Well, time to get out of my dream life
and back to reality. How can I get my hands on a million dollars?
What would you do with a million
dollars?
