If I Had My Way
This week's journal entry:
Finish

would you do if you had your way? Explain why you would do what you’d want to
do.

If I had my way, I would not work
another day of my life. Ah, doesn’t that sound wonderful?
I’m sure everyone has said or thought that before. I have to admit it probably
crosses my mind at least once a week, if not more.
In fact, I know that thought frequents
my mind every time I have to get up early for work. As much as I enjoy my job,
it sure would be nice to be able to sleep in every day and do whatever it is I
feel like doing that day without having a care
in the world.
See, I love sitting around being lazy
whenever I can, and I often feel like I can’t do that too much. Life always
gets in the way of my lazy time or just doing what I want when I want. It’s not
like being a kid and having the freedom of no worries in the world, like being
an adult.
Being an adult is seriously no fun. You
have to work to pay your bills, buy food, put gas in your car, and outright
live. Almost everything costs money, and if you don’t have a job, then you have
no money. It’s a vicious cycle unless you
were born into money. In which case, I don’t like you. Hahaha!
If I had my way, I would do nothing all
day long and let others cater to me. I would live near the ocean with the beach
as my backyard. I would go for a long walk each morning along the beach. In the
afternoon, I would sip fruity alcoholic beverages and read my books. If I get
hot, I will go for a swim in the ocean.
Ah, what a life that would be.
This, of course, is a dream I would love
to make a reality. In order to make that happen, I guess I need to continue to
work. So, I cannot have my way right now. In my future dreams…hell, I know I work hard and deserve it.
